• How to use.
The Filelock 1.3.1 package contains two version of the application:
√...Filelock 1.3.1 (68K) for 68K Macs or, in emulation, for Power Macs.
√...Filelock 1.3.1 (PPC) for Power Macs.
Filelock 1.3.1 is a Drag & Drop application, which locks unlocked files and unlock the locked ones. While Filelock 1.3.1 is working, a window notifies the kind of action achieved, the type and the name of files examined, the number of files locked and unlocked.
Filelock 1.3.1 supports drop keys: if you drop while pressing Option key, all files dragged will be locked. If you drop while pressing Command key, all files dragged will be unlocked. Also Filelock 1.3.1 locks/unlocks the contents of disks & folders, (even nested folders).

Note: while Filelock 1.3.1 is the foreground application, you can press escape or command-period to exit during its performance. Instead if Filelock 1.3.1 is the background application you can use only escape key to stop its job.
Be careful: Filelock reports any error but if you try to unlock files in a locked disk, Filelock performs its job, leaves the files untouched and do not returns errors.
According to the tests executed, Filelock 1.3.1 can support the dragging of many files, folders, disks. If you like to increase its capacity, you need only to increase the allocated memory.
When Filelock 1.3.1 completes its job and if it's in background, then attempts to call back your attention, to show its statistics, by a simple notification procedure. If you do nothing or are working with another application, after a brief waiting time (about 30 seconds), it quits.
Filelock 1.3.1 requires at least System 7 to run.

If you don’t pay for shareware software today, you will pay much more tomorrow for exactly the same features (but enclosed in a 'nice' commercial box, with a 'friendly' copy protection and an 'attractive' serial number...).
